Learning Activity 1:

Building a Community Resource File

What are the current community resources in place to support social and emotional development for young children in your community?

It is recommended that professionals who work with young children maintain a current file of local infant mental health resources that includes the following information:

         Contact information

         Services provided

         Languages spoken

         Insurance plan(s) accepted

         Requirements to obtain services

Services that might be available in your community include family resource centers, behavioral health clinics, mental/behavioral health specialists, care coordination services, Early Childhood Council, etc. In building your community resource file, start with the resources provided in the Resources section of this course!
